Birta Ólafsdóttir is an Interior Designer, Art Director and Curator.

Birta works for various private clients. Her roster of public clients include the fashion house STEiNUNN, fashion incubator LuxCartel, film production company RVK Studios, FESTIR Real Estate developer and Hubert Zandberg Interiors.

Throughout her career she has worked alongside talented professionals including BIG architects, Rakel Karls, Snohetta, Christie’s auction house and Iceland Design Center to name a few.

Birta has also served on the board of directors for Aurora Foundation since 2014. She was instrumental in the development of projects such as Sweet Salone and Aurora x Music, non-profit initiatives which aim to boost economic welfare in Sierra Leone through design and music respectively.

Birta holds a Master’s degree in Fashion Styling, Photography and Film from Istituto Marangoni in Milan and a Bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship & Innovation and Art History from Northeastern University in Boston.

Originally from Iceland, Birta has worked in major cities including Paris, New York, London and Berlin.

She currently spends her time between Switzerland and Los Angeles
