SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

Production & Lead Time Each piece in the collection is made to order and handcrafted at our foundry in France. Please allow approximately 6–10 weeks for production before your order is ready to ship. This timeline is an estimate and may vary slightly depending on production volume and material availability. We will keep you informed if anything changes.


Dispatch & Tracking
Once your order has shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking details. Estimated transit times from dispatch are 3–5 business days for domestic shipments and 7–14 business days for international shipments. These are estimates and are not guaranteed.


Delivery
A signature is required upon delivery. If no one is available to sign, the courier will leave instructions to reschedule. Please keep an eye on tracking updates and any communication from the courier.


Multiple Items
If your order contains multiple items, they will typically ship together once all pieces are complete. We reserve the right to ship items separately where necessary.


Shipping Address
When placing your order, please ensure your shipping address is correct. We will do our best to accommodate address changes if notified promptly, but cannot guarantee modifications once production or fulfilment is underway.


International Orders
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, and related charges applied by their local authorities. These are not included in the purchase price and are outside our control. We are not responsible for customs delays. If a shipment is refused at delivery, the customer remains responsible for original and return shipping costs and any customs fees incurred.


Order Changes & Cancellations
Because production begins shortly after your order is placed, cancellation or modification requests must be submitted within 48 hours of purchase confirmation. After this point, your piece may already be in production and changes may not be possible. Please contact us as soon as possible at info@birtaolafsdottir.com with your order number.

RETURNS AND EXCHANGES

All Sales Final Every piece in the collection is individually numbered, hand-stamped, and certificated — whether held in stock or produced to order. Because each piece is uniquely editioned and assigned its own number, certificate of authenticity, and signature, all sales are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges.


We strongly recommend reviewing all dimensions, weight, and product details carefully before placing your order. If you have any questions about a piece before purchasing, please reach out to us at info@birtaolafsdottir.com and we will be happy to help.


Damaged or Incorrect Items
If your piece arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us promptly upon delivery at info@birtaolafsdottir.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photographs of the item and packaging. Prompt notification assists us in filing carrier claims, which are subject to the carrier's own reporting deadlines. Depending on the circumstances, we may offer repair, replacement, or store credit.


Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.


Items Purchased Through Gallery Partners
If you purchased a piece through one of our gallery partners, please refer directly to that gallery's own policies. We are unable to process returns or exchanges for items purchased outside of our website.
